For a company that prides itself in doing right by the world, it sure has regressed in how it treats its employees. 2-3 days of parading soon-to-be former employees into designated high traffic conference rooms.... It’ll be a spectator sport for many employees and a white knuckle stress test for others who are simply praying to keep their jobs. The right solution would’ve been to close the HQ as they have done in the past. Indra probably didn’t want to slow progress on her previous Renew project by having to stop construction for a day.
PepsiCo is an at-will employer. They have the right to let people go when they no longer fit their vision for the future. But it shouldn’t parade around as a noble company when it can’t even treat long-tenured employees with basic dignity. Shame on you, PepsiCo.
After having left Pepsi four years ago, I'm overjoyed that I no longer have to sit through those empty, meaningless town hall meetings given by Indra Annoying meant to stroke her ego by watching how many people she can punish at one time with her presence -
It is about time for a little bit of shakeup. Happens every 2-3 years and is necessary to awake the nappers and kick the slaggers.
