I'll admit, I'm very surprised by media coverage of these layoffs. Most of the times they just prop companies for bonuses and ignore layoffs unless they are in thousands.
However, from what I can see, Chesapeake truly made the news, at least on the internet. Not sure it really makes much difference, but it's nice to know it's not being swept under the rug.
