Somebody pass the tissues....Seriously folks. This is a business. If THE BUSINESS decides to trim management, it can. No one's job is safe or guaranteed-ever. To blast a company for making a "tough decision", and going through with a plan to make them stronger for the future is just VICTIM mentality. I am a 11 year co manager. I had no desire to move to store mgr, been there, done that at another company. Store managers are hard to come by and in reality, I am holding back future store manager candidates. Is that so wrong of a company to want to grow talent? My store went 9 months without a store manager. Granted, there is more root causes as to WHY it's hard to find people to want store management yet one cannot blame for getting the stagnant co mgr lifers out of the way. My offer could have been termed before end of fiscal year, no severance. Walmart didn't do this to us. They offered those not given co job the opportunity to apply for an asm job at 20k less a year or take a severance (which is 6 mos pay in my case) AND we all get paid our current pay/benefits for the next 60days AND we all are eligible for the yearly performance bonus in March. Haters going to hate. Although I will be leaving Walmart on 3/30..I am grateful for the package they put together and 11 years of great employment. Now, My future is wide open ! Ty Walmart for 11 great years!

I told my manager to use my PTO for the remaining days that I would not work till Feb 2. Lucky for me he denied my usage of the two weeks I had left so I got to use them for this last week and get the rest Paid to me. I’m so happy I’m getting a severance to leave this company. Will never shop at Walmart again. Good Luck to everyone else!
