Thread regarding Ricoh layoffs

Replacing experienced workers with younger and cheaper ones

Ricoh was a company to work for, but nowadays they've made some bad investment decisions. A lot of talented and long time employees were either transferred to Georgia and some who were employed for 30 plus years were laid off. A company that had enough time to make changes but was not able to adjust with the times of technology. Not enough Imagination, ignored to change.

Exactly what @Rizhm8I-6uji said. Instead of doing everything it can to keep its best and most experienced workers, Ricoh got rid of them and replaced them with wet behind the ears employees just to save some on their salaries. How is it possible they believe this will not affect the company adversely?

And it continues..... They are keeping the lower performers and carefully balancing by race, age, etc. in order to keep off the radar for employment lawsuits.

Not only did they hire wet behind the ears techs for half the pay (so called 'Associate Technicians'), they also expected those of us who were left to train them in the field. Not a day went by that I didn't have to stop what I was doing and do an assist (on that gawdawful OFSC system) just because the 'Associates' had no idea what actually constituted the copy process. But before I could do that, I would have to drop what I was doing and service one of the almighty IPA lockers at the expense of my Ricoh customers. A total joke.
