Here are some opening thoughts:
• At least every year pick a new planned quit date, preferably around end of March. Plan accordingly. Each year decide whether to ride the roller coaster another year and pick a new date. Think in “countdown” mode, not dread mode. If you get laid off, they’ve made your decision pricess easier.
• But first get your finances straight (google Dave Ramsey baby steps).
• Take advantage of this company to improve your skills and marketability.
• Remember the low level goal is paychecks. You work to make money.
• Try to avoid negative feedback loops at work.
• Just do your job. While others are blathering, do your job.
• Realize that Walmart is no longer special.
• If you are going to leave, tell no one, and then go for it. No one is irreplaceable.
