Looks like there's fresh talk of a merger with Apache. If you put two losers together, does it make a winner?

So sad, APC was a great company just a few short years ago. Now the short people and Al are driving it into the ground. Pity.
Hess is a joke and have 0 clue of what they’re doing.
Mmmm...relish. Umm, um.
Too bad we're not buying the company. They have some really good people 'ceptin' there F---ING RECRUITERS WHO S--- AND I WOULD RELISH FIRING THEIR ASSES. I thought maybe we could buy Hess and get some heavy upper and middle managers who can make decisions without three-eyed algorithms. And then they could chase off the Scottish mafia. Too bad.
BHP is in the market with APC and Shell possible buyers. Assets are in vicinity of APC right across Ramsey and best fit if any money left after debt interest payments. Option even to swap GOM assets with shale, sounds good for a cash strapped, debt ridden company that still wants to buy assets that worth several $billion.
Hess is selling assets to get cash for the major oil development project with Exxon. They are not operating but still have to come up with money for project going forward. Since Exxon is operator, Hess can't put people in it so after selling properties the layoffs are in order.
Re Hess. Maybe. It would explain why you have massive layoffs when oil is 65-70. Is this a guess or do you have a good source? Is Anadarko looking at Hess?
Hess is positioning themselves to be take over
💩, I feel so much better. I thought the goal was for us to get bought out so the guys upstairs can ride off into the sunset.
BEST POST ON THIS SITE EVER!
APC should merge with Blockbuster and Kmart. I think by leveraging the synergies of all three we’d have a powerhouse on our hands.
Not true
Both teams can be winners if they collaborate and work together to produce great results! This could be the end of a losing streak for APC! I bet the AAET or ESS guys (or whenever the hell they're called) are having a field day with this!
WOW! Exciting times ahead!
