Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Leave Moneymakers Alone

It's a real pity when revenue areas of the business are impacted. Would hope the business leaves those areas alone! Keep hearing that no area is safe, but does anyone know if they are looking to reduce areas that are cost centers to the organization?

In other words, administrative departments, such as HR, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Accounting, Legal? Seems we don't hear about those areas getting hit.

Ditto to other response - HR was heavily hit last year with entire teams taken out and it has continued throughout the HR org on an small scale throughout the year. They are completely overhauling the HR design for the company. Legal has a decent headcount in relation to workload and specialty area - they keep headcount to the outside counsel.

With all due respect please don’t hit payroll. That’s one department nobody wants to fail.
