I heard there were going to be 100 + employees cut from the Sam Walton Development Complex. This houses Real Estate; Architecture; Storelayout and PMO/Store Space. Any news what positions will be let go?

I heard from someone in bldg the number will be closer to 300 from store layout, store Planning, and real estate.
Store Planning Field Managers, directors, senior directors were already told they would have some cuts. I wouldn’t be surprised if the entire Sams SP was cut, save for a handful of people (they don't work out of SWDC though). They already rolled out cuts to the lower levels of SP in November.
Not surprised that building gets hit every time this happens it seems... last year the construction management team was hammered. They still have far too many director positions for the limited amount of construction that’s actually happening. There is a strong desire to outsource as much of the work that happens in this building as is possible. Look for more and more cuts to store planning, contracts administration the PMO teams and strategy as well as construction/design. If not this time soon. They need this building empty so it can be leveled to make room for the new HO! Didn’t they see Poltergeist and learn what happens when you build your new house over a graveyard?
