I’m truly curious about the general attitude in this forum. There’s so many loyal employees here that don’t want to let Sears/Kmart go. I understand that. But is there really anyone left who actually believes these stores will survive? I’m not trying to get a rise out of anyone. I just want to know if people truly believe a turnaround will happen.
For the record, I took a different job and left Sears about 8 months ago, after working there for 11 years. The store I worked at is one of the stores that was recently announced as closing. The store manager there really believed that Sears was turning around and that the only stores that needed to be worried were the underperforming stores. He is totally devastated... he didn’t even remotely see it coming. (Our store was the number one store in the district by a landslide and has always been positive ebitda, even the last 5 years.)
Just looking for honest answers. Does anyone really believe Sears and Kmart will survive?
