I work for contractor and visit many rigs both offshore & onshore and stood over and watched a division of halliburton baroid dealing with cuttings waste material which is very hard work all round and to me makes the job even harder for the guys as it seems they lack correct equipment moving forward ie lack of investment as they say there is equipment on the market which comptetors have to remove high risks and manual handling these guys body's shall not last no time at all as potential to cause health issues.
I did speak to 1 guy asking if ever job is run like this and his reply was it does not matter what job or rig your on it's more or less the same very hard and after 3 weeks doing this and other dutys not only am I tired but the hole crew.
I felt terrible how these guys can keep up but also the salarys they receive along with day rate whilst offshore.
Surely a large company like baroid hallburton should be taking there workers on and act on these concerns that crews have / pay increase along with day rate would be a good start then look at purchasing equipment that helps to do job correctly you cannot be safe if the investment is not there
