Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

It’s about time!

First off, I don’t want anyone losing their job.

Stores are just “ top heavy “ they don’t need that many layers of management. All to come to one person to tell them what they need stocked or accomplished. It’s a waste of money! I have worked in a lot of stores and some of them have too much time on their hands. Every time the CEO comes in, the market sends all the workers over to help out the store out. They need to see how bad they are with all the layers of management and associates in the stores. They should do surprise visits in every store! Over the years I’ve notice the stores don’t change. Might as well not spend more money on saleries and bonuses, if the store is never going to reflect it. Why have co’s When you can have more people to do the actual work?

The store structure is going to change and stay in place for 6-8 months. In Q3, there's going to be a leveling of the store manager role, the comanager role and a new flavor of asst manager. Dept manager will change, too.

I’m not against having co’s. You just don’t need four or three per store. One for GM and one for grocery at the most. Some stores don’t have enough people on the floor to clean or stock and do customer service.

Very top heavy company.

To my understanding the co was a buffer position in between store and assistant managers. They were to cover building when store managers are out, they were to be the bad guy and hold Assistant managers accountable to keep store manager out of it, and they were in a position to get promoted to store manager when the positions opened. Most stores had 1 maybe 2 co managers.

Now with no co manager the list for who can apply for a store manager will be so long I doubt people waste there time on applying! The removal of co manager leaves no advancement within Walmart stores once you sign your life over to be an assistant manager. Which means less talent will want to become a salary manager at all due to the fact that you will literally be a Assistant Manager for the remainder of your career with maybe gettin a 2% raise (depending on evaluation) and a bonus that is not even set it stone (depending on man made store financial plans that have to be met).

So my question is who will want to be an assistant manager with no advancement, no incentive, no holidays off, mandatory 80 hours during busy Walmart weeks, no pay increase, and no secure bonus?
