Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

It's not over

About 150 were walked out and a total of 400 were laid off. About 600 more to go in the coming weeks. it is not over. From a viable source from high up in the company on a basis of anonymity. Total savings from all rounds, including 2017, is about $100Mil. The company is changing and Tony T’s days are numbered.

Posted few hours ago on another thread (Post ID: @RjTVWLn-vsq ) I'm not the OP, so not sure about the numbers, just thought this info should be more visible.

Hiring new people and laying off the same amount in older people is not eliminating excess capacity its just swapping higher paid tenure for lower paid newer employees.

Read that blog dont see anything about it saying its over. It said we must continue to manage overall cost. And as more customers leave what do you think that means? More heads chopped.

Ceo posted a blog on stream saying it was over. Im having a hard time believing him. It looked a little staged honestly, him in his office looking all disheveled and sleep deprived... maybe he was sincere, i just didn't get that feeling. Good luck everyone.

Why would the benefit be of dragging this out over weeks?

I've heard that sales is likely the next target. And if you aren't hitting your numbers, no severance package. Get ready kids.

All they have to do is look at the stock price.. 5-10 years ago layoffs raised the stock price, these days it is dropping

Oh come on you don't think the board would have taken action by now, Tony was hired to do what they are doing, the layoffs are funding the buying of other companies. Yes there is a lack of understanding by the higher ups on the jobs different groups do and how important some of these they are shutting down are however they will move on and Tony will be here until they are done with all the changes
