Have not seen anything on the local news from the area. Either the layoff did not happen, it was very small, or the news outlets 'choose' not to report it.

@4mpg, slow down, go back and read what the person you just jumped said. They were responding to talk of a new HO (location) being rumored for the past 10 years, not layoffs.
@4myv it has been announced in the news, it has happened every quarter for the last 2 years and yet you don't believe it. You probably think you are untouchable too. Just because you don't know anyone personally impacted doesn't mean it didn't happen somewhere in the company. It will happen before the 31st and you could be one of the people impacted. You might think you will get another job right away you aren't considering that the competition is stiff out there in the real world. My eyes have been opened. I was fortunate to find something but many have not.
@3duz that new HO rumor has been around for at least 10 years. I'd give it a 20% chance of happening.
Thursday - big layoffs - we all know this - 1/25/2018
The 25th & 26th at HO
I know that Thursday the 25th has been mentioned several times from people in and outside of Walmart. One of the top recruiting agencys in the the Bentonville Area that services Walmart Stores. Inc already put out a statement for imapcted associates to contact them if/when they are imapcted. so, it's coming for us. I know they want to get it all wrapped up with a pretty nice bow by Jan. 31st. so the new fiscal year is not tainted with it. Just FYI,... they upper ups, teased us with the prospects of a new home office campus, and for them to do tat they need operating capital. i.e, not eat into profits. So, what's the best option? Get rid of employee payroll to free up said operating costs. This is a project that will take every bit of five years, so this will be a way of life to those who survive this cut to face of possibly the next 5-8 year until the new campus is completed....
Likely end of this next week. If it was like last year and you work in main HO building - good advice is to avoid vendor hallway as much as possible.
I just imagined the reverse of employee appreciation day. Instead of the director and higher welcoming committee clapping and thanking associates (for their giant life changing bonuses) when associates walk in that morning, it will be grim faced HR people and managers directing people to meeting rooms for the orderly march out the door.
Several VP level executives have already been presented with severance or demotion options. Expect it to slow roll downhill next week until the “mass” conversations take place later in the week.
There is nothing wonderful about job loss. But the way you handle it as an individual will make all the difference. Best of luck.

Apparently Happening Thursday at HO
The 25th.
That's because it hasn't happened yet. Be patient like the rest of us who will actually be impacted.
Next week is rumor
