They cancelled all leagues in 2018 and now I hear they are essentially giving the park to BLM-NML parks and rec? Any truth to that?

They have canceled all SFEA activities. My understanding is that includes summer camp for kids. I have been told the park is on the chopping block and consideration is being given to make it a public park. Why? As an employee the only thing free is the use of the park. Leagues we still had to find a sponsor to pay for shirts. Camps for kids we still had to pay upfront fees to attend camp. I get SF still has to pay life guards but that is not a long season. How about you stop resurfacing parking lots that don’t need it? How about you stop running shuttles and let us walk for the exercise or staggers work hours? How about you stop loading up the ladies bathroom with free feminine hygiene products? How about you stop redoing the grounds or running sprinklers non-stop? How about you stop giving free trips to employees and/or a partner for designations (give us a $200 Visa card) and make designations mandatory development? Cut other expenses but not the park. The park is the only benefit that Corporate employees have is dreary boring Illinois.

Yep. And that's pretty much my take on everything that's going on with the re-org. Those up top have some magic soup of numbers they're looking for, and they are killing their company to get them, damn the consequences.
I know some people give Tipsord and company credit for having a more reasonable business strategy, but not me. I think Tipsord is a bean counter. I think Fawad's only skill is reducing the number of beans and making things look good on paper or a year or two.
Those two have some end-game in mind. If their only end-game is "efficiency," State Farm is going to need a miracle. Because what they are creating is a workforce that would giggle with delight as the company melts out from under them.
Atlanta, Dallas, and Phoenix have plenty of major parks and attractions, Bloomington, not so much. They complain about not being able to attract talent to Bloomington, but then take away the perks.
Here's something you'd think they read in the latest edition of 'Managing a Fortune 50 company for Dummies': You gain productivity with a happy, engaged, and motivated workforce.

Does that mean State Farm has found some way to transfer Bloomington's weather to Pheonix, Atlanta, and Dallas?
The park is one of the only perks of living in Bloomington.
This is #fakenews... it's not that we're taking the existing park and giving it to the local park districts, it's that we're restoring the equality between the hub locations. You see, when you look at all hub locations, Bloomington stands alone as the only location with a park. It's quite an aberration compared to the other locations. So, as part of vivify, we're making sure that all roles are equally distributed among all hub locations. The role of "park" will be equalized to a small patch of grass around the flag pole of each location. I can't believe the number of people who want to perpetuate the inequality of the Bloomington location.
