Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

The news just keeps getting better!

Guess John finally realizes the ship has been sabotaged by years of mismanagement and there's no way to save it. LOL!

The company is really breaking up? Is there a way to save it? JF didn’t mention the word “confident” this morning. The company may be is over. We need to stay strong.

"JI.... He did not disclose what was really going on."

He didn't know. He really did not know what was going on. Every morning when he looks at the financial news he's as surprised as everyone else.

So, we have two stories here. One - again - of a poor reading of the business dynamics. In Power, we just “did not see”a market shift that was under the eyes of everyone working in the industry. In insurance (how many of us were even aware of the existence of this business???), nobody saw that a re-evaluation of the trends in claims was necessary. Yes, people are living longer, yes, yes, so probably there will be more claims. Yes. Mr Flannery sounded surprised today, and I tend to believe that he did not know of this one (he knew of Power I think).

The other story is a story where lies are a systematic part of a professional relationship. John and Jeff have worked together for ages...and still one systematically lied to to the other. For years. Surely before handing over the job. He did not disclose what was really going on. At that level...after all the talks around candor...how poor these people are

The goose is cooked my friends. Time to look for another job outside the company.

I can't see GE power being worth very much without GE aviation feeding it new tech. I can see the two staying together after GE Power senior executives are let go, taking the blame for a mismanaged company.

That's the kind of narrative that sticks. That is, "GE Power management was the problem. We got rid of those clowns and put their plants under the direction GE aviation."

It is the right thing to do. The problem is GE Leadership didn't take the action and is now being forced to do it. This clearly demonstrates how poor the Leadership has been. However, quite ironically, the Leadership itself has gotten quite wealthy as a result of all this mismanagement.

I'm sure Nelson Peltz has something to do with this. So sad to see this happening before our very eyes. A once powerhouse of a organization slowly breaking apart in front of us and we are powerless to stop it.
