Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

Store changes

sr positions eliminated

asst gm position created-seniors will interview for this

4 overall gsm positions in most stores (will depend on sales volume) but in most stores it will be ops, hardlines, softlines and the 4th is ?

marketing goes hourly

ap goes hourly and becomes ops support specialist (no more apprehensions and basically becomes the ima). Yeah big change..BP doesn't have ap at all so cablea's will be in big trouble without ap now

Hr hourly but most stores have been hourly anyway

Boat salesman already went hourly

There will be leads in each of the departments but pay is like old lead pay $11-12 an hour

Anybody knows if this all true? And is this the final list of changes expected for retail stores or will we see more announced soon?

9am in most stores. I’ve talked with several people across the country and they all have a 9am meeting with their GM. Salaried and sales coaches including HR and AP are to attend.

Store managers are in for a rude awakening if they expect severance they will be offered lower pay and if not accepted they will leave with nothing.Cuts will be made to high paid and underperforming sm‘s

More will be replaced soon due to other various reasons as well so start looking

Trainer! what the h*** is a trainer? Our store hasn't bothered to train employees or managers in years, they're all completely oblivious once they get on the floor, I had a full time Outfitter (at the store for 6 months) complaining about not being able to print tags because his iPod wasn't working, was never told or shown that he can print tags from RPI - sad!

All true...

No more trainers

No more hr managers - replacing with hourly specialist and also getting rid of admins.

Other gsm is firearms

Marketing will move to PT weekend events for in stores

These new managers better get ready because they are getting a lot of sh-t dumped on them

With this additional news, I really think that BP is trying to clean house from top to bottom. If you have thought about going elsewhere to work, this is a big reason to pursue that action.

It's all true.

GMs all know about it but have had their jobs threatened over leaking info. Must be difficult knowing you are about to turn people's lives upside down but not be able to tell them. The decisions of who's staying and who's going or taking a pay cut have already been made.

If you are a SR or Sales Coach who does not want to make $12/hr it would be best to start looking for employment elsewhere.

Expect more changes after the beginning of February.
