The effect on unemployment varies by state. In NY, it only matters if you receive the severance payment within 30 days of termination. That doesn't seem to be an issue here, as no one has gotten their severance within 30 days.

My packet came by fed X. Make sure the amount is correct. The store had to have the correct last day worked-and terminated date. If they waited to terminate then they will have to email severance to get recalculated with your last day worked and why they waited to terminate. Also have to have correct code for the reason of job loss. Good luck everyone. Mine is now correct!

Finally got through to the Severance hotline...they didn't use the right code when they terminated me. So now I have to talk to the store manager... so irritated about this whole thing.

I opted for the Severance after 21 years with Walmart. Because of the unprofessional way my store handled the transition I chose to leave as soon as possible at the end of October. I have heard nothing since. I knew I had to wait until after January 28th but its almost March? I have called 800-622-3989 but have been unsuccessful getting through. Each time I've been on hold for an hour or more. This is ridiculous 😒

Just curious,I read that there would be an increased severance due to the economic downturn during the covid pandemic.

Has Walmart done that?

I finally received my completed document through docusign. The process is so much better using email instead of waiting for papers in the mail. Call 800-622-3989 and give them your email address to sign your severance document electronically.

I have not received. My separation papers yet either. The number to call is 1-800-622-3989. They ask to give it two weeks from termination to receive paperwork then call. I will be calling tomorrow. You can also go online under transition service team at ASCInfo@walmart.com

Wondering if anyone has seen any paperwork on the severance package. I thought I would have received something by now its been two weeks since my last day worked. Or should I say 15 days Thursday January 28th 2021. Please alert me if you hear anything. Its annoying to play the waiting game.

I was told to make sure my address was up-to-date because the paper for me to sign would be in the mail and I should send it back as soon as possible it’s been a week and a half I haven’t gotten it yet

I haven't heard anything about the severance pay yet and its been a week since I was involuntary terminated because of the dms position going away its frustrating because no one went over anything about it they just take your vest name bage and discount card and say you should get a email so if any one knows anything about it please share

That is not a true statement, the severance policy is one week pay for each full year you were with the company. Nothing was said about not being able to come back for 2 years. The policy stated that you wait the total weeks of the severance you were given before eligible to apply again.

I got a email yesterday on the severance package. No explanation on what it consists of, just word of mouth. It says the package discussed, and a page where to electronically sign. I have no idea what I’m signing.

As of October 2020 the policy has changed and they are only offering one week of pay for every year of service and that's it

Look on the wire . In the policy it states you have 6 months before you can start back at Walmart. I just read the policy of Walmart y'all need to pull it up read it.

Read the FAQs! This is a non severance event. Policy does not apply to this situation.
During pandemic large layoffs have oversight and no one is laid off or out of a job. If you are not offered a position you have "pay protection " as stated in the faq for this operational change.
If you don't find a position by 10/21/21 you are terminated with no severance etc....
Read all faq to understand as no one gonna give you the hard honest truth!

They gave our cash office associate 1 week for every year of working.

yes, follow the policy.

Post ID: @hrag+Rf0IJPe

The policy states that you get 2 weeks pay for every year of service plus 1 week for every 20k in salary. So if you worked for them for 10 years making 60k a year you would get 23 weeks of pay.

Be advised that if you take the severance, you can’t come back to Walmart for two years.

I heard from a manager that it’s 60 days of wages, plus $1,000 for every year of service. Don’t know if this is only for certain job codes though; I.e. the co-management their letting go.

While it is on the wire, have they set a precedent with last year's layoffs that exceeds what's on the wire? From PTO payouts to the 60 day "window" seems there might be different standards listed vs. what has been done in the past.

Anyone have any thoughts?
