Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

How many jobs can we outsource before it's enough?

When did job security become a myth at NCR? There were always some layoffs, but lately we've come to a point where literally nobody is safe.

We are seeing reorganization after reorganization. And in each of them, more jobs are being outsourced to places such as Eastern Europe. I'm starting to fear there'll be nobody left in the US soon.

This isn't all that surprising when we take into consideration the inability of management to see past quarterly financial results. Maybe, just maybe, if somebody set and started to work towards long-term goals, we'd be able to move in the right direction.

I'm not holding my breath, though.

I will never work for a company like this again. They don't really care about employees, they only care about their bottom line and stock price. Tons of american jobs outsourced. Good hard working Americans who put in the work for many years to make this company successful just to be let go like they are lint on a shirt. NCR is not the American company it used to be, that is for certain, it is just a shell of itself. Just like HP.

It’s the 20 40 60 rule at play. Twenty years experience over forty years old want 60 grand a year. For that kind of cash they can replace 1 American with Maybe four foreign employees.

"There were always some layoffs"

This is when you should have learned that no job was safe. You have to pay attention to every detail of an organization before you buy into this is a family or this is your home type thinking. If you do choose to do this, then don't get comfortable.
