This is a culture of sadism. If your a laid off individual....Consider yourself lucky to get out of this evil force of Level 3. Centurylink may have been reluctant to provide raises, but Level 3 is a beast of its own. I wouldn't wish this nightmare on anyone. Level 3 is the most evil company out there and encourage promoting people that destroy the customer and people within.
CenturyLink and management is a terrible company no matter how you look at things. The bottom line is this company is DYING and at some point you jump off to a better job or get pushed when the layoffs happen. I left and it’s been the best move of my career. My new salary is 20% over what I was making and the companies future is much brighter. From my limited job search, it seems like here are plenty of jobs available for those looking. New year and time for a new job!
As soon as century tel took over embarq and removed all incentives and bonuses, those of us who worked there knew we were getting screwed. Year after year, we would get less compensation and piles more responsibility. No recognition and more stress.
This company always has been and always will be an acquisition company by the shareholders for the shareholders.

This is a horrible time to be with this company right now, I’ve never seen anything like the way people are being treated. The secrets and uncertainty is amazing, people are wondering if they’ll have jobs. Glen is Jeff’s puppet, between these clowns they’re making 25 million a year... yet people are working their guts out without Christmas bonuses, merit increases and we are not included in the tax saving bonuses the big companies are giving out. My insurance increased this year and no raise to off set the difference... I will make less this year then last year. This company will do anything and sacrifice it’s workforce trying to scratch by, both Glen and Jeff recently loaded up on millions of dollars of stock and they’ll do anything to get that share price up. I’m finished with this disrespectful company.
