Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Even more new jobs postings!!!

Even more job opening were posted by State Farm in the past 48 hours! How wrong is that???

So they are not even waiting to get rid of the people, they are already recruiting our replacements at this speed? Those who'll do the same work for much less money but also with much less knowledge and experience.

I used to be proud to work here once, now I'm ashamed.

They didn’t extend offer to our section Manager, who is great by the way and overwhelmingly liked by employees and are now actively allowing people to put in for her job. Still she is portraying class and doing her job until her QTD date. That is the kind of employee that any company should want. I can’t imagine how she feels. It has to feel demoralizing and sad. It has made me actively start looking for another job. I realized that if it can happen to someone like that then I am never going to really matter at this company no matter how good my ratings are and I am consistently 3/3.

I was fired from State Farm 5 yrs ago for something very trivial and that’s when the process started of “trimming the fat”. All they look at are metrics and numbers. They think by firing veteran employees and hiring useless college graduates for $40k/year that the business will prosper. What they seem to forget is the quality of employee and customer service they are losing. They will soon find out they should have been a litttle more respectful to their seasoned employees. I can’t wait to see them fall. Business today is so different than it was even 10 years ago.

Many corporations pulling this stunt. It's 100% PR in a desperate attempt to save face and offset the bad press they're getting due to layoffs. I got $5 that says those jobs aren't even real, as there are numerous posts on this site of people at other companies who were laid off and applied for jobs supposedly offered by their company.

What happened? The process was glacially slow, with endless delays, taking over 6 months, after which they were told they aren't suitable. Many people felt it was all a front and the jobs never did exist. Yes, welcome to the days where corporations will pull these kind of stunts.
