Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

The Tipsord tip over

State farm was a giant boat like the Titanic a ship that could withstand almost anything. When I first started my career there 4 years ago I truly felt blessed to finally have a job I could call a career and buy my first home and support myself. Over the last year though Tipsord has turned what was a company built on values and caring relationships into a financial behemoth of a bully. To this man everything is only about numbers and this year after all the changes and people in my department making an much as 15000 less in a position that only paid 40-45 anyways and going from being treated like a professional to now being treated like a 19 year old convict... I have no problem saying I will never work for this company again, and I will laugh as I watch the new CEO run it into the ground.

How I wish you all really knew this has been going on since 9/11. Changes were made into effect immediately putting many employees at risk in order to restructure, realign and hire people off the street for much less money. They took experienced, high paying, productive employees in several departments off the payroll without any NOTICE. They walked us out the door at the end of the day telling us not to touch anything, not even our pictures. We were to come back the following day and pick up a box full of our personal items. We were not to go past security at any time. This is nothing new to the company policies within the past 18 years. I'm SO GLAD now I can live in peace without worrying about any security from SF. Nothing lasts there anymore.

Big changes need to happen at the highest levels for the company to survive what has happened over the past 5-10 years. After 25+ years as a loyal, bleed-red, high productive employee, I would not allow my children to work here. SF used to tout that we had the lowest turnover in the industry, but now seems acceptable to want low paid, low professional, no loyalty, and no customer service employees. This turnover and treatment as a non-valued employee is showing the effects financially and with policies. I've had the displeasure of having personal auto and fire claims in the past few years. Service awful, and claim reps that make wrong coverage statements and unable to make any decisions. Not their fault. The company doing all it can to rid itself of experience. I can only presume that SF is trying to be like every other competitor and truly make its product a commodity. By doing so, they won't remain on top, and it makes me sad.

If the rumors are true change may be coming. I'm 54 and just trying to hang in there to 55. Ready to give up what I once valued as a great place to work.

"Get rid of Tipsford he is a disaster. Taking a great company down the tubes."

Much to soon to say that. Time will tell.
