Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Enrollment Advisor having lunch with Attorneys discussing Lawsuit against Univ of Phoenix on Friday !

To the CEO/President and new owners of Univ of Phoenix-I am a manager in the Financial Aid Dept at the corporate office and I and another coworker was having lunch off of 32 Street and I overheard an Enrollment Advisor talking to two (2) well dressed Attorneys they were having lunch too. They were talking about pursuing a Civil Lawsuit and suing University of Phoenix. They were discussing if there is an out of court settlement that one of the VP'S of a college be terminated in that agreement if there is no mutual agreement between the two parties beforehand. They were talking about subpoenas and getting evidence on emails and phone records. These issues were brought to the attention at the corporate level and they neglected to do nothing about it. They were discussing Enrollment Managers harassing and trying to find reasons to write up and fire Enrollment Advisers so they don't have to pay severance packages and to reduce payroll to avoid higher layoff numbers to the public. They were serious. They were talking about collecting information/incidents from other Enrollment Advisers and doing interviews with them to see if there is a pattern for a Class Action Civil Law Suit. They were talking about using various media sources to get this out to the public if this is not settled by using negative but factual incidents that has happened involving Enrollment Managers. They were talking about an Enrollment Manager threatening an employee after work hours. My girlfriend and I couldn't believe what we were hearing. These incidents seemed to be true to me because they were serious discussing several incidents in detail. My girlfriend and I had our Univ of Phoenix badges in our purses so they didn't know that we worked there. My girlfriend and I both agreed when we left that restaurant that if you are approached with this matter you need to take it very serious because it is no joke.

Anonymous FM, what you saw may have been an interview with potential employers...or potential counsel. Who knows?

After reading this and thinking about it I believe that this Enrollment Advisor was discussing these issues with two Attorneys. My best friend is an Enrollment Advisor and he was wrote up for something very stupid and ridiculous and he had the most Reg's on his team most of the time. He was a role model employee. Has anyone in Enrollment heard rumors that Enrollment Managers were trying to find reasons to write-up Enrollment Advisor's ??

This is hilarious. This may happen too: "Hey, also good sir, I have 20 million dollars, but am having trouble getting it to my great aunt, who is a queen, and is traveling in your country. I would gladly give you $10........."

Sad but true, many have reached out to private counsel.

The executives need to fire and/or lay off this Enrollment Manager ASAP Period ! If someone is willing to talk to Attorneys it is probably true and factual information by this employee that has occurred. If this lawsuit is filed it will cause more layoffs to employees in Enrollment, Financial Aid and Academics to pay for this lawsuit. Not good for other employees to pay for this Moron Enrollment Mgr's stupid behavior.
