Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Loyalty is a two way street

I continue to pray for all people still in limbo. Loyalty is a two way street. When you let go leadership that worked for years and truly believed in the company and many times had to miss family events etc, that says more to the rest of employees left behind.

Why should anyone truly believe the leadership left. And then to find out that there are so many jobs now being posted. Seriously, that is horrible. If they have an ounce of sense they will beg the good managers to stay before their QTD dates.

However, if I was one of those managers I would say hell no. Wouldn’t want to be burned again down the road. Funny thing is several of these managers had FMLA in last few years for actual disasters in their lives. It appears all of the ones that I know that took FMLA were let go.

Can’t be a coincidence.

I agree. Also I think the managers found it a slap in the face that after years working hard to promote to their position that they would now have to fight for another position and most likely it would be a demoted position. If they didn’t get hired into another position by June then they would only get half the severance with involuntary severance. I think it was not worth the risk for them and their confidence in the company that many of them made sacrifices for over the years was shot to hell. I have a feeling that SF will regret losing some of them.

Um, the reason many of the leadership people I know are leaving is that they are getting a very generous severance package, much more so than the lower levels. That and they can see the handwriting on the wall and are abandoning the sinking ship. I think senior leadership was surprised at the number of people opting for the voluntary severance, hence the large number of SM openings. I have seen very few postings for SM positions, let alone the vast number they currently have. And by the way, if I was a SM who was told that there was no place for me in the new SF only to find their position not filled, I wouldn't post for it. I would take the money and run!!
