Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Merger Agreement Question

I thought the new owners could not lay anyone off for one year after the merger. Here's a link to the merger agreement. Can someone look at section 6.10 D (iii) (p. 77)? To me, it reads that per the Merger Agreement, the new owners could not terminate anyone for one year. The key phrase in question to me here is "after the effective time" which was one year from the merger, if you read all of 6.10. Find "02/8/16

"8-K - Merger Agreement" at this link. It's the fourth from the bottom link on the page: http://investors.apollo.edu/phoenix.zhtml?c=79624&p=proxy

It’s been over a year so they can have layoffs, change pay rates and more.

I was laid off in June. Bee thing to ever happen to me.

I go to work not worried if it is my last day or not.

If anyone was laid off between Feb. 1, 2017 and Feb 1, 2018, then that layoff was within one year of the merger.

Even so, there were layoffs within that year. Mine was one of them.
