Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Hey California

Where's the class action when we need it? How can the farm layoff 50 year olds and up? We need a union or something. You'd think the stress alone of not knowing would be enough to suit for emotional damage. Please get on this. California has the balls to do it and we need you know baby.

Seems like they are paying more money than they take in:

State Farm is having to dodge a bunch of crap, and they will do whatever they need to in order to stay afloat a little bit.

If you consider the field reduction announced last week, I would be willing to speculate that 85-90 percent of the three thousand effected employees are in the protected class of 45 years and up. If there is any chance of a class action, it will be from this event.

It's not age discrimination if they exit the whole state. Bakersfield and Irvine are being shut down completely, all employees old and young alike. California, like Washington State and Maryland are not about age, it is about the hostile business climate. You need to look in other places to get your age discrimination evidence.
