As this "buyout" continues I feel good that many Cabela's people are benefiting greatly. Being the company that was bought out it seems that many are doing pretty well with a nice severance, early buyout bonuses, cashing out stock grants, etc. and many have now prospered from taking over key leadership roles with Bass with a very nice retention bonus. Not sure the Bass team is seeing the same on their side. They have to sit and watch as more and more Cabela's teams take over key roles, cash big checks and take over their profitable business and turn it into what Cabelas was....failing!! Rumor has it there are many more coming in the next month or so. I am told that Bass has already started the credit business in their stores as well and will be moving away from their core business focus as it was at Cabelas. The more things change, the more they stay the same. The Bass managers are in for a big surprise. Say what you want but for a company that was losing, there sure have been a lot of winners in this deal.

These ‘Buyouts’ aren’t even going to cover what people lose on their homes when they have to move to find new jobs.
