Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

This is truly the beginning of the end

Salary caps, severance packages, QC gone, more layoffs...I give UOP 1.5 years before it completely implodes. How long will good employees stick around? Not long Id say. Folks are depressed. The company will rehire with folks who will burn out in 6 months. More cuts will happen until more of the company is sold off. Im glad I got out. Update your resumes folks and work those contacts. Good luck!

My students speak slang and can’t speak proper English. They would not be able to graduate from any other college. PhD? HA. Anyone getting a PhD from UOP can’t get into a regular program. Sounds harsh, but it’s true.

I wonder how some people have the nerve of advising others to go for a PhD at this institution. Really? You know the place is dying rapidly and still recommend enrolling in a 3-year long program at UOP? C'mon! I know you're desperate to get more paying students but you should also have some kind of decency.

Been here over 15 years. I am surprised it lasted this long. The writing has been on the wall for awhile. Slowly, but surely. Lately, things have accelerated quickly. The doors will be shut by end of this year. It’s a fact.

The beginning was 8 years ago. This is the tail end of the end.

I wonder how upper management can get golden parachutes given the current and projected future results. Of course, I am not privy to what constitutes value of intellectual property, real estate, and limited cash reserves that would attract any buyers in part or in whole. It is a good deal. Come in, cut, package for sale, get stellar buyouts. Where can I get a ticket for that train?

I got laid off just under a year ago and the sad thing is you still have those same sh--ty directors and executives like Bronson and others that are still there. They need to go first.
