How do they do it (layoffs)? A phone call? Meeting with HR?
Please chime in - how does the actual act of communicating that you've been laid off happen?
Do they call you in a conference room?
Who is there?
What do they tell you?
How long does it take.

Via skype, no video (so they didn't have to "look" at us), they didn't allow any questions. The meeting didn't actually say "you're job is gone", it said, "you're job might be gone, or it might not; there might be jobs for you to apply for, or maybe not. We'll let you know, someday soon, maybe. Oh, and July 31 is the end of the line if we don't find you something to do. Thanks for tuning into this mandatory meeting, see you around."

We were told via skype by some 12 year old VPO who didn't look old enough to shave let alone run a claims organization. Snake Farm truly living up to its name.....
They are releasing a lot of first line but then promoting or hiring more first line. There is some sketchy method to the madness, and someone is making those decisions. Look at the new org chart for IT: they have many TBD on it where they should have used some of the leadership they released.

Thats the tactic of weak beta males. If you're going to lay someone off at least look them in the eye when doing so.
They sent me an email indicating I was invited to a mandatory HR session. In the case of my "effected group," this was a meeting attended via Skype. On the date of the meeting, we all skyped in and listed to a gaggle of emotionless drones explained how we were laid off.
I was in Systems, So I got Fawad and a few other executives and there might have been some HR drones that came on afterwards. I don't really recall at this point. Most of the stuff they said was pointless anyway. Only a very few salient facts mattered.
