The fact is that Avaya layoff people who are not capable of politics, buttering, take care of manager who is admitted in hospital and so on. If a employee is made redundant though he or she is HRC candidate then the Avaya management is a crap. Avaya should have wiped out first management people only and not ICs. Also as long as RS kind of people are with avaya, with whatever strategy Avaya bring, the ship will sink for sure.

Summary

Engineers are expected to do AI without any defined use cases.

Engineers are expected to work on cloud without any planned and end to end solution architecture.

Sr. Managers and Directors conduct Hackathon's to get ideas from engineers because they are incapable and unskilled to think out of the box. They are even incapable to judge good and bad ideas which can be turned into a sellable solution.

End of the day who is fired, poor engineers.

There is no future at Avaya.

More layoffs expected after announcement of product discontinuation. If you were not fired in this round it is just because they had some dependency on you. Expect it by mid March after meeting of global leads conclude and new product strategy is announced.

Name a single solution in Avaya which is fully cloud ready with full proof customer adoption. Migrating to openstack or Amazon or google doesn't make it fully cloud ready in the literal sense as solution can only be a hybrid cloud and products itself are not fully cloud ready. The caas solution is a joke and so is breeze . Forget AI if you don't have proper use cases for cloud ready solutions itself. Maybe hire Sophia from Hanson robotics for AI and fire everyone else.

The only direction current managers can give is that you will survive only if you do AI and cloud. I have an idea for implementing AI in Avaya products. Instead of transmitting voice we should work towards transporting humans using SIP or web RTC. What say?????

Whole system smacks of favouritism. Question I guess here is not of accepting and moving on. Surely like me others will find something better and move on. Problem is why after working hard you are rated SRC or LRC and while others are given chances, long rope and promoted. Anyways no wonder Avaya reached where it is. Even after having good technical work force if it is led by insecure managers and some people of questionable hands on skills as cloud architects!. It's bound to suffer.

It's very simple. If HRC's are fired blame it to employee rating system at Avaya. It is faulty and of no use.

If you are a manager and you are asked to remove x number of employees from your team, who would you remove? Surely you won't remove your top performers and who licks you. You will surely remove useless employees in your list. I know it hurts. Sorry! But that's fact, accept it and move on.

Strangely people instead of supporting guys who got layedoff are criticizing them. Just a question on what logic were people selected ? If even HRC guys are in list. A manager VT who got himself layedoff selects candidates from his team to be in the list ? Strange isn't it ? How did he get to choose ?

Oh may I request you to you kindly f*** off Mr Chatu. Just tired of listening to 'last round of layoffs phrase'. And you are right. We are absolutely useless in Chatugiri and lack licking skills unlike you.

Request to all laid off guys. Please do not create unnecessary fear on the floor. This was the last round of layoff for sure. Reducing more will lead to closure of centre. Remember, you were useless and so you were fired.

Those who are saved this time will face same thing by 15th Mar 2018.

Next Massive layoff (upto 60-70) already planned for Pune.

They will wait till 15th Mar (as few people will themselves leave on fear) & hand them pink slip.

No one is safe here.

Time to move to Nice

Don't you know... Let's take example of director NN. He has been delivering devops training across multiple team's... And that's just few chapters any fresher can also teach. Ask him to build true devops rather than doing talks'???

If it was based on skills then show me what's skills site leader, directors, sr.mgr and mgr has acquired in last 10yrs. Just bookish knowledge but Reality they won't be able to lead from front on the cloud and AI or even DevOps. Why they have not fired? Big question

Why don't you shut the f--- up Mr. Chatu? I personally know some people who were hardworking but they were fired. Just because you are lucky to have an excellent manager and they don't, doesn't give you right to say anything about them. So keep your a--hole covered otherwise someone will f--- you up.

I agree with you that useless and dumb people were fired. If they are writing anything on this wall it makes sense as they have no work. How can a useful person like you after doing hard work whole day and opens this thread on reaching home ? It shows you would be busy whole day reading out every updates in this thread.

Useless and dumb people are finally fired. No need to cry for them.

If you are affected, do not waste time here. Prepare yourself, learn new technologies and hunt for jobs. Save your family.

If you aren't affected, thank God and keep pleasing your managers. Encash the opportunity, now there is bigger room for promotions.

There are more HRC people who are asked to leave . I am also one of them. I guess it is good to leave this sinking boat now as atleast in India it is the directors or managers who are useless not the engineers and When leads are worse the company is bound to fall.

Those who are safe, for how long are you safe? Better start looking elsewhere. I heard layoffs are not over. They are still evaluating whom to keep and whom to give pink slips.

Being HRC i thought I am safe at Avaya. But my bad, I should have done buttering or chatugiri instead of work. Not sure if I am the only HRC employee who is asked to put resignation or accept layoff. If I am the one they would know who posted the message. But why should I worry now I am already asked to leave.

One thing is for sure, nothing's fake at this site. I see that the layoffs about Aura SV was predicted 23 days before in thread named "AVAYA AURA SV TEAM". And it's all true now. So please don't question the intent of people posting messages here and also do not assume that everything is rumour here. These are genuine people who provide information for the betterment of colleagues and company. This is the only forum where we can express our deepest feelings anonymously. No one's there at Avaya to listen, understand and differentiate between right and wrong. Even HR department has no control. The 360 degree feedback system was stopped by HR where engineers could rate the managers.

In US and other parts of the world it was leadership layer which was changed but in India it's mostly senior engineers and few managers who are fired. Isn't it politics. They want India centre to fail so that Galway and US can rule Avaya. Now Avaya will hire the new people so called outside talent in India so that they will dance to the tune of bosses. Existing customers would cry for the solutions because people who used to manage legacy are asked to leave. Customer's would be forced to adopt new product's which offers no new features but only the technology change like on-premise to cloud.

Why there's no change in Indian leadership team? It was their directions on which engineers were working. The best leaders have moved to other companies like Nice and Amazon. They had something good in them that's why other companies hired them by offering better salaries. If Avaya want's to grow bring them back or give chance to new people. It's a simple logic, existing India managers, senior managers and directors are still in Avaya because they are not good and no one's hiring them outside Avaya. Change this layer before replacing engineers if Avaya wants to become great again.

First chance is given to select few. Not because that they are good but because of reasons we all know! Then those folks grow remaining in company for long years ( not that they are loyal) but they are now in comfort zone with contacts n settings . Then during layoffs instead of taking these out , they take out all other possible but these 'experienced'. Only cleanup from top to mid level managers and bringing in fresh blood can save this company.
