Why did Walmart just hire a new store manager from outside the company when there are so many displaced Cos???
We lost our Cos and our Store Manager in all of this mess. The Cos were hard working good people. Instead of promoting one of them, or one of the many other Cos that are being moved around like chess pieces, the company hired a former grocery store manager with no Walmart experience. If that doesn't make it crystal clear that they don't care about their people, I don't know what would. I understand retail businesses needing to stay lean and competitive in today's retail market, but I cannot come up with one good reason to be hiring outside managers when they are cutting good, experienced people. These folks have families who rely on them and they have had their worlds turned upside down. And the ones that still have jobs spend their days living in fear and talking about who will be next. What a wonderful way to inspire productivity and loyalty. Shameful!
First, ASSUMING THIS IS TRUE, Walmart did that to (A) save money and (B) to get a fresh approach from a different set of experiences. ---Which makes sense on the surface, but none an inch beneath that, because why would a company want management from one of the competitors they've systematically crushed?
Because (C) they're greedy and desperate :)
