Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

PepsiCo to be a skeleton company with mostly outsourced departments

We've seen HR benefit management, AP, Payroll, IT, Purchasing...go to outsourcing. The next hit will be by YE 2018 as IFM will cut out field operations by outsourcing to a IFM/CB Richard Ellis type facilities management firm. Hard and soft FM will cut many management position and admin jobs. This has begun. Surveying and test/piloting sites is already well underway. I can only imagine what Doolin, HW Lay and R Kendall would think of their companies now under the current leadership - cutting out so many US jobs. Maybe FL separating from PEP 2 years ago WOULD have been a good thing!!

45 college new hires started on Monday the 12th in Plano. Layoff's started on Tuesday the 13th. One heck of an orientation wouldn't you say?? They got to see their future, should they choose to stay long term.

One of the reasons I left the company was because of this urge to outsource everything even when shown that outsourcing cost more. Quote from Sr management - "it doesn't matter, we don't want to be in that business or have those employees." That was enough for me to pack it up and leave.

Better get used to training your replacements before you are laid off.
