Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

Can we all agree...

That most of the information on this site ends up being truthful and coming to fruition ( rumors about retail store layoffs-happened on the 2/1) and now Sidney retirement offers ie, disguised severance before actual layoffs happen. All you posters saying blah blah blah people were being negative and starting gossip. No, it’s called open your eyes and see the writing on the wall and listen to the people around you. Believe it or not some people with credible information actually posted on this site and all you crazy Sidney dreamers chose not to believe it. Now, I’ll give it to you there are some bat sh@t crazy posts on here about Applebee’s closing etc but between the crap the truth was always there.

to the original poster Mr. 30 years was not direct at you

the individual who posted this trip was the intended recipient not you.

I do not recall any one ever stating there would be no layoffs. I do recall a lot of disagreement concerning the size of the layoffs , I think you predicted every employee in Sidney every employee of Cabelas nationwide and 1800 employees at corporate in Sidney would be laid off at different times. Which I didn’t agree. Also the size of the severance pay you predicted it would be nothing. I predicted between 6 months and a year. Also the lengthy to complete the merger entirely you predicted two months and I predicted two years.finally I think most people if not every one Agreed there was going to be layoffs. I assume you post most of the negative posts on this site. If you post this everyday you are bound to be right sometime.

Nope not mr long term employee on this post. I wrote this post and I’m a former sr manager who was recently let go. Just so tired of you crazy Sidney folks who were so delusional that you thought you were safe. You freaking saw what was happening all around you and just kept choosing to ignore the obvious signs that you were all (few exceptions) going to be let go. And anybody who posted anything on here that stated info on here that said so you called gossip or negative or claimed was some “30 year employee”, I literally just started coming to this site a few weeks before I laid off so I don’t even know the story of this employee. But hey I get it losers, if I lived in that shi@hole town I’d be defensive too. You have no employment opportunities and nowhere to go. Cabela’s was your meal ticket and now that ship has sailed.

So true. At another company employees were offered the same deal with numerous employees turning it down only to be let go a few weeks later with no severance.9

Are you the same outfitters that I have personally seen actively avoiding customers and doing nothing to improve the store armosphere? Are you the same outfitter that can’t answer a basic question about the product you are selling? Are you the same outfitter that stands by chatting with other outfitters while while customers stand in a line 10 deep to check out?

I agree the corporate office was vastly overpaid and out of whack, but ALOT of those corporate people came from the retail stores.

Please dont speak of karma when more customer complaints were about the stores and the bad service within them.

Dont worry though, Im sure there is another retail store job out there for you somewhere

It’s kind of refreshing seeing the over paid elitists at corporate getting a dose of reality. Think back to how you spoke to that outfitter when you visited their store half way across the country. Or how about you sitting in that cubicle having never physically stocked or merchandised an actual store and sending people to each store to over complicate a door to floor process to stock product. Your karma banks are overdrawn and that b!tch named karma has come to collect what is due.

Way to many with Cabela’s or living in the Sidney area have been drinking the koolaid far to long.

Any way you slice it Cabela’s as a company or brand will be shortly gone. I know of several departments which will shortly have maybe one or two individuals there.

Who is going to place orders, cancel orders, push products to the stores. Anyone on the inside knows neither BP systems or Cabela’s talk to each other.

This is going to be a s—t show sooner than later

Just dropping in from the Oracle board, Cabela's folks. There are constant "fake news" posters who deny layoffs on the Oracle board, many/most of whom are probably Oracle HR people. The same may be true on the Cabela's board. The Oracle predictions came true last September when my spouse and about 1,500 other people were canned, and more layoffs are in the pipeline. Yet still the "fake news" people continue to blather on.

Wishing everyone well...as the spouse of a laid off person, I know it s---s.
