Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

The “delayering” of the organization

Definitely saw this strategy in action, as stated in IKN’s written statement. Was particularly true in GP. Gotta admit there is so much inefficiency with L11 reporting to B1 who reports to B2 who reports to B3. Anyone else witness this in their group? It is not the case in other groups such as Treasury, hence their feeling of being understaffed compared to some groups, and hence the lack of heads rolling.

So true. Indra so badly wants to dump NAB, but doesn’t have the stones.

It’s not an issue of levels. It’s an issue of spans and direct accountability. Managers should have 6+ direct reports and direct accountability over a prime aspect of the business. That wasn’t the case in several groups. Some departments now left trying to fix a bad strategy. R&Ds a good example. Their matrixed global model was a colossal clusterf--k. They reorganized and promoted several for a PepsiCo globalization that never came. It didn’t so they have to clean things up by firing people. Problem is they’re firing people who weren’t at fault. The poor strategists are still in place trying to cover their asses with lies and deception.
