Choices for Corporate

Who's staying within the company? And who is taking the money and running? Just curious

To the poster of "The discount card seals the deal for me", here is how math actually works:

A $10 item, with a 70% markup gets you to a $17.00 shelf price

A $17.00 item with a 45% discount (17 x .45 = 7.65 discount) costs you $9.35, resulting in a loss for BP/CAB of $0.65 (sixty-five cents)

Learn a book, Seth...

It is clear to me. BP/CAB just put the decision back on the Outfitters to make a choice between:

  1. Leave early and get the extra package and the severance.

  2. Wait for the layoff and just get the severance.

I am not saying this is all Sidney Outfitters but I believe the managements made it clear.

Just remember, it is now your choice to decide.

The discount card seals the deal for me, was worried how I would spend the retirement money. Give back to cab/bp for a 45% discount on a 70% markup, sweet!

So was there a meeting or where is this coming from? Retirement Pkge or wait?

they will probably have the option to self purchase a Cobra medical plan, and the payout will be treated same as a severance package and unemployment payments will be delayed until the payout is exhausted as if earned weekly in the future. the way prior packages read, they were take it or leave it, leave it your out anyway and on your own.

For those that voluntarily leave, what happens with things like health insurance, unemployment?

How does make sense?

-It Makes Bass Pro look like a more caring company with this route.

-1. Bass Pro had already commits $10 million toward the severance fund

-2. Morris says he would personally match all of the donations, up to $10 million.

-3. Watch as former executives and major shareholders skip donatin

-4. Morris gives another 10 million anyway

-How does that not look like the company tried to do all it could?

Are there layoffs coming anyway?

-Of course

If yes, why set up a separate retirement program.

Why not just lay everyone off and give the most to those who have the most years?

-Engineered to get the most buy in possible, and highest chance of people accepting it. It looks much better to have the largest amount of people possible people accept the severance rather then to have a few people accept a better severance package and greater layoffs.

Why make people decide with little information.

-They want people to read between the lines.

Should I go now or stay and wait to see what happens?

-The guy who said “a bird in the hand...” earlier

Who knows?

-John Morris

Are they trying to make as stressful as possible?

-No. They are following heir strategic plans.

Those lifetime discount cards are an absolute joke!

This is the most confusing...unwinding of a company... I have ever seen.

Multiple retirement packages

Severance Funds with matching amounts.

Outsourcing creative to Quad

Buildings that are being leased for a $1

Lifetime discount cards

Lots of smoke and mirrors. I don't know what Sidney is going to look like after this all shakes out

I see Old Corporate downtown is now empty with State of Nebraska dudes walking through it. When will the folks in the old Alco building be moving to finalize consolidation into the new West Corporate building?

Outfitters with contracts were not offered this deal. Whole departments have been decimated today.

Great job BP.

Noticed nothing from the new BP CFO Ralph offering to kick in. Would of thought if you boss offered this challenge at least a small token $$$

OK, I get they are offering retirement...and if you don't take it? What?

Are they saying anything about what the future might hold?

Or is it take the retirement and if you don't "who knows?"

That makes the decision awful hard.
