Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Some days are better than others. Morning coffee brewed up just right, traffic lights all going my way, commute takes a few less minutes. Start working and the computer even does what I want for a change, no insistent software suggested reboots, smooth sailing all the way.

Just a pause in the action folks, go back to what you do best, and try watching out for the little guy once in awhile, he doesn't deserve it, but hey, it's the right thing to do.

On your death bed in your last moments of life this whole saga won't even register. That doesn't help anyone in a bind right now but you will survive, there is life after WIN. Anytime a company loses most of its shareholder value there will be "tectonic" shifts internally.

In a good-old-boy chrony industry like these crusty telcos you can expect performance, talent, and loyalty to not reliably be the driving factor in decisions about workforce reductions and org restructuring. The org will get it wrong when its this poorly run and this big.

If you get Riff'd today consider it collateral damage of a dysfunctional org in panic mode and not a reflection of your worth as an employee or human.

Let’s just hope all the rumors are just that, rumors. If layoffs do occur today, I wish the best for all that are affected by it. I truly believe that things happen for a reason and when one door closes another one opens.

For those that stay at Windstream, work hard and do your best to make this company great. If you are negative about it then the culture itself turns sour. No matter what happens always concentrate on doing what is best for the customer.
