What is happening is awful. Many hard working people at all levels and ages are having their lives thrown into turmoil. Be supportive of each other. Some of the comments posted here are really harsh and unnecessarily unkind. I sincerely hope that all those who have been impacted find happiness and prosperity outside of PepsiCo and I hope that those of us remaining are able to move forward a little wiser and more aware that this will likely happen to us too at some point. I always felt that if I performed well and worked hard it would be unlikely that I would lose my job. However, after seeing so many hard working and talented people lose their jobs this week, I now know that it can happen to anyone at any time and without merit. Stark and very sad reality. Best of luck to all.

Agreed. Outsiders are hijacking this PepsiCo layoff discussion forum with insensitive posts just to start flame wars. Now is the time to show compassion, not for shaming and blaming.
Yes, respect for former colleagues. But I lost all respect for the organization that let them go. Lack of long term strategy and pure shortsightedness.
Agreed! This is how we should be thinking about this weeks unfortunate circumstances.
