I was rebadged in 2014 also. There was not any guarantee of 2 years. At least not in my letter. Re-read yours. What it says is, if DURING the first 2 years, the Indian company lays you off, you will get whatever your severance would have been under PCO. Basically, they would honor the PCO severance. I was switched to HCL, which has ZERO severance. They put you on the bench. You have 30 days to find your self another job within HCL. Then, apply for unemployment. If they would have benched me and laid me off in those first 2 years, then they would have paid severance.

I've since been rebadged again....since PCO's choice of HCL, is now pissing them off so I got to rebadge AGAIN! Lost even MORE benefits.

I was rebadged by PepsiCo in 2014 to an Indian company. We had 2 year job guarantee. Some were moved off the account onto the "bench" after one year. There was no effort to move them from the "bench" to another account. So after 2 years they were let go. Basically they will train offshore resources and get rid of you as soon as they can.

Employees will be rebadged to one of the consulting firms from India and told they have guaranteed employment for x amount of time (2-3 years).

At the end of that time period they will be let go.

As many of our jobs as possible will be outsourced to India. It's nothing new.

I was hired as an IT contractor in Valhalla 10 years ago. About a year into my contract, they forced me to accept a reduction in my hourly rate (or let me go if I refused), then a year later they terminated my contract six months before expected departure date. Not sure what they would do now, but probably worse.

Pepsi's strategy is to fill all possible job roles with Indian contractors. It will be an interesting case study in the failure of a major US corporation when the company fades away into obscurity.

Contractors are temporary labor. Can be hired and fired at any moment . Did you know that ?
