Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Sears transformation

In my opinion it is possible that during a great time of challenge for traditional retailers, Eddie took the correct approach. The chains have been significantly downsized and if they can be renovated and grow from a point of stabilization, there may be a future yet. 400 Kmarts versus 800 Kmarts is a whole different chain. Once the business stabilizes maybe it will actually grow.

Eddie has said in the past that he does not believe in keeping the stores in good shape. Just Google it and you will see that he has been very honest about what he intending to do. He has said that he will not invest in the stores and that the only thing he cares about is shareholder value. He has also said that he does not believe in raises or customer service. I cannot remember what the artivle was but just Google Eddie's quotes and you will see what i'm taling about.

And with what customers??

So downsizing will just somehow draw people in by the droves? Why would I shop at a smaller Sears or Kmart if I don’t even shop there to begin with? What’s the pull factor? There is none.

Sure...and just what vendors are going to fill these supposed transformed stores?!?!!!

Sears stores are full of empty beige space and huge lists of “Sorry, Mr customer, we are having vendor issues for sox months. Sorry, we no longer carry this or that.”

And for all you geniuses, if S2H won’t ship, its a dead item.

Give up the ghost
