With the day just starting for the Europe region, the business now waits to see how the axe falls on this above average performing sector.
Although the R&D machine has certainly grown out of control and Mehmood and Indra appear to be addressing this by axing tens of L10-B3(LG4) roles globally, this will significantly hinder ability for innovation.
I cannot help but notice the tighter restrictions coming for those of us who survive this cull. Totally scrapping business class travel, tightening up on the already shockingly bad and dated IT infrastructure and canning entirely the pension schemes.
We will know more after Mehmoods speech on the 6th but I do not see how the plans to seriously cut back on R&D will help the long term growth agenda.
Those of us left will be working with less people, less money, even lower moral and unable to travel.
Pepsi, please tell us why we have become such a 'me too' company? Where did the vision go?
