Has anyone heard if the engineering office in Tyler Texas is going to close? They sure are nervous out there.

I have heard the procurement and engineering are in the chopping block in Tyler. I know most of the good engineers have already left and there are no good procurement people there at all.
If McDermott was smart they would close Westchase and Rogerdale. They would leave Tyler alone or even expand the operation. Before CB&I bought Lummus, Tyler made money.
I know from first hand experience that Houston is clueless. They only worry about schedule, not doing what is right. The Houston engineering is a joke, bunch of paper pushers (CMS).
Tyler’s always been a profitable business and also has licensing that needs to be supported here. It’ll take a few years before this can be transferred (probably to India or China). Don’t think anyone’s really nervous. There are 7-8 other engineering companies in town.
Westchase is almost closed. However, no news about Tyler.
