Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Interesting Observation????

I (a white man) and 10 of my highly decorated colleagues (all white men (mostly over 40) were laid off today. I saw another post on here pointing this same trend..... In an org dominated by women "leaders," which I am all for, it is highly suspect that PepsiCo completly slashes mostly white male leaders (L11-B02). I'd love to see the final total layoff count by location AND demographic statistics. Cough it up Indra, be transparent with the public and stop sugar coating sh-- to your employees.

question 1sfp...why is it that only white people are ever called racist? Is it possible to be an Indian supremacist or Chinese supremacist? Because I know it is. Have you ever spent time in China? I have, some Chinese think they are part of some type of master race and are highly nationalistic. How about the complaints and attitude against the rising black African population in Guangzhou?

You are very naive to think that there are only whites supremacists.

More women - and most over 45- let go in our region. I think it’s more ageism than gender bias.

Right on aix, if anyone needs proof look at this guys comments from a few years ago.

http://www.adnews.com.au/news/top-pepsico-exec-gives-agencies-tough-love-on-lack-on-diversity-and-obsession-with-tv-ads

"Agencies are “the most egregious offenders” when it comes to straight white male syndrome, according to Brad Jakeman, president of PepsiCo Global Beverage Group, who laid into the industry for its lack of diversity at the AANA Reset conference in Sydney this week."

Not a surprise the straight white male group had such a high number of layoffs.

Funny paid Pepsi PR in thread trying to say there isn't any bias. What are you afraid of? People finding out? Anyone who's worked here knows that certain groups are protected. If you are a white middle aged US born male you are the bottom of the identity hierarchy. The phrases indian mafia and asian mafia are used at all the locations.

Also please note that Pep fudges the numbers by hiring white males from European socialist countries, sure they count as white but they are as liberal as they come.

Sociology where you make sh-- up. If you don't see what is happening you are blind. Have Indra post the demographics of the layoffs. There's probably a point system.

Indian +1 million

Asian +5 million

LGBT +1000

Foreign +800

Female +500

Didn't s--- up to your boss enough? -1000

White American male -infinity.

Black people have been saying this for the longest! That if we ALL don't come together, it's going to affect us all. But of course, it doesn't happen until it's starts affecting others. There is the Elite, then it's us average Americans. The system is the enemy.

@kwv

DEFINITELY race, gender, and possibly political views had something to do with it. Pepsi is clearly moving towards being a GLOBAL and diverse company with an ultra liberal agenda. Just look at those nonstop emails from Indra with all those great diversity programs.

Be the most diverse at this company and you will survive or be white and liberal. Unfortunately being black or latino is no longer enough. Until AMERICANS (of all races) start sticking together like the mafia groups do there will be systematic replacement of this group.

Been in outplacement 3 times and its 95%+ middle aged white males. The most discriminated group in the 2000s. Pepsi, like so many white, male dominated CPG companies is trying to makeup for 40-50 years of the good old boy network. If you are a female, le---an from India, your all set.

In Barrington R&D mostly experienced white men with lost of valuable experience. High performers who dont have advanced degrees. I dont feel it was based on race, but minimizing future pension costs. With that said Pepsico was generous to the departed.

Folks all about future cost, everything corp does is about making profit. Called capitalism. If you don't like it, try Venezuela.

If you carry your I Am White board, it doesn't show your superiority because it is no longer 1800s instead it shows your brain development halted too early. And that's a good reason to can you bcuz you are no good without brain for innovation.

It depends on the department apparently. The cuts in R&D, particularly Snacks, were very lopsided. Other departments- much more balanced.

I know of 6 white men, 2 black men, 2 black women, 2 Asians, 1 white woman. Given the distribution of black, white and Asian in the population, these numbers are just about right. BTW, I'm white. This is not a race thing; it's a leadership thing.

Hey, I am an black female and I was laid- off too. It is the culture of that organization, every few years they they lay people off ....that’s what they do. They can’t make earnings lay people off. Most of the senior level men in my department are white men (and a few white womaen) and they remained. It hits all of us. White men are just upset because traditionally they have been Immuned or the last ones let go, so when they get laid off they feel victimized because according to them they should not be laid off while others remain in their jobs.
