Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Sick of you talking trash against Doug

Do you really know Doug? Why do you trash this man? He is doing his best to turn around this company. Its true he is no Aubrey, but there will only be one Aubrey. He was amazing. We need to build up Doug, not tear him down. What proof do you have that he is bad person. I'd like you mofos try to do his job for one day

Truth, I think the CEO is keeping a low profile. There is so much news that he would like to tell everyone , but can't. It appears the company has been in a quiet time since Aug.11, 2017. If you have been laid off and own stock in the company I wouldn't sell that stock. This is my personal opinion. The possibilities are endless. There could be a total buy out, a partial buy out or a merger. Something is in the works .

Everybody that is backing him up hasn't lost your job to say the least what is his bonus going to be this time around. The people he laid off had families lives and bills to pay ie. I'm one of them that got laid off but I got a job within a week and paid twice as more as chk. But why not take a bonus and him spread that wealth back to the employees. It want be long before yall will start bad mouthing him when y'all don't have jobs lol

Doug’s been like a church mouse. Only time I ever see him is when he is coming back from lunch at the Wildcat and that is on rare occasions. He has opted out of the last two town halls and has zero to do with the people actually performing the work. Unless you are a director or above don’t plan on getting any face time and if you don’t get any face time you start to formulate your own opinions based on the current state of the company.

Keep up the good work posters. Reading these comments, I mean riding this mood elevator is feeling like a roller coaster. Slow ride up, fast ride down. I’m getting some popcorn.

Ignore the hatred on this site. Most of us trust that he's a decent man. We need public displays of leadership every once in awhile. That's not an unreasonable expectation.

You are all aware there wouldn’t be a CHK at all if he never arrived aren’t you?

Yes he is paid a lot of money, but would you have left a promising career in Houston to come here and clean up this mess for cheap? Its not like he was unemployed and needing something to tide him over. He was always going to be a CEO somewhere and the fact that CHK is still operating at any level should be seen as a success.

So many of you are delusional. You have no idea how close this company was to being a distant memory in Oklahoma history. If the market had of held better than it did you would all be singing a different tune.

Don't ever leave Oklahoma with that short sighted vision you have, the rest of the world can’t handle more stupid.

Doug is accessible to his most valuable assets, his employees. Make an appointment with him. You will pleasantly surprised.

I'm not going anywhere. This is my company. You and your beloved Doug should leave.

Yeah, his "most valuable company asset" is his huge paycheck.

Better question, who has seen Doug in their building in the last year not to mention ever? You can tell he cares about the company’s “most valuable asset”

He was the keynote speaker last week at NAPE, so he must not be a "bozo." You are Bozo. Your type is what is wrong with today's corporate culture. LEAVE, please.

Doug is a bozo and he is sinking this ship. Let's make one of the summer interns the CEO. This army of interns should be led by an intern.

Lol! Nobody "really knows" Doug because he has been vanished. Maybe a David Blaine street magic trick gone wrong? Back when Doug used to be a "leader", you know, one who actually talks to employees... I liked him. Hell, I may still like him, but my memory is fading. Been... what? Almost a year since he bothered to talk to "Chesapeake's most valuable asset".
