Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Forgoten People

It is crazy how quickly a laid off person becomes nonexistent.

No one will contact you to see how you are doing.

None of your so-called friends and coworkers will mention your name.

A manager in my group joked about all the empty offices being available for the new college grads.

What have we become? Remember, you are on your own.

Don't count on Facebook or LinkedIn to bail you out.

Do your own job research. It is dog eat dog right now.

We are all not like that, some of us cried and felt your loss. Remember the environment we continue to work in, we are fearfully and scared. You are missed. We lost friends and co workers and that's not easy. I agree we have egomaniacs who see this has a victory and some sick narcissistic managers who will get joy, especially since they rid their teams of those they did not like.

But remember us, the ones who had been there for you and took your loss as if it was our own.

There is survivors guilt going on...we look at those empty cubes and realize what we lost.

Speak for us, the ones who cannot voice the realities of working at Pepsi. Share your stories of managers, abuses, OSHA hazards, s-xism, favoritism.

May those that lay someone off for unethical reasons burn in hell for eternity.

PepsiCo people are among the worst at networking and staying in touch. I had only a few friends keep in touch when I was laid off in 2005. Even then, they kept a little distance. Wish people were more kind. They will find out soon enough how important it is to network.
