There's nothing to worry about if you care about the company to lay people off because of store closer is fine. B&N is closing so they have new updated stores to offer to the new generation. By getting with the program this will offer more sales. But if you are interested with the company go to the warehouse. If you like the stores than apply at others around your area

Someone is drinking from the delusional well. They're not cutting staff to open new stores! Hate to break it to you but they will be CLOSING stores this year. Please, when they closed my store and another one in my local area 3 years ago at the same time (and these were the last 2 in this particular area btw) corporate "said" they were going to immediately look for locations because they "didn't want to lose the business" in that demographic. That was 3 years ago now and not a peep about it. The second store I was transferred to, guess what? CLOSED! And the one I was at until yesterday is also on the chopping block. Also many people who were let go yesterday that was the only BN anywhere near where they are so they can't just "easily" apply to another one like that. Are you high? And I'm in a location where I AM close to the warehouses. They're not hiring there. Please. I know people who have worked in the retail end for DECADES and they tried to make the jump to the warehouse or corporate end and they all got their chains jerked. Get your head out of your a--! Must be nice to be so oblivious.
They laid off dedicated, skilled employees who had put in years of service. No consideration and straight up disrespectful. But the noobs that have been there for a month or two gets to keep their jobs. What happened to seniority? And no offers for a demotion to part time either. Thousands of workers, both laid off and left behind to suffer the effects of this cut, are affected.
they're not opening shiny new stores. if they were moving to new stores they wouldn't be firing people, they would be transferring them. did you just make this up or what? like where are you pretending to get this info from?

If you're gonna spout nonsense, at least spell correctly. What are you, from corporate? You think the warehouses have locations in all the states where stores are? There certainly aren't in my state! Now stop being a f---ing dumb and get out of here--real people are being affected. They aren't opening new stores every week.
