I have worked for Pepsi long enough to offer an opinion. from what I see there is a total lack of appreciation for the employees who have been working for the company for decades and a movement to replace and promote employees College recruits who the only time they have ever picked up a case of Pepsi was to buy it. experience seems to have gone by the wayside

It is shedding 1'000 corporate jobs, and adding 20'000 front line jobs as it does every year. It is actually a great company to work for - especially in the trenches where salary and benefits are premium compared to most jobs today.
1% out of 110'000 employees - less than 1% - is EASILY handled by attrition - a company that size would have over 5'000 retire every year anyway. Simply don't replace them.
At one time you were green with no experience. It’s not like a college kid is getting hired for a B2 job. S/he has to work his way up. And it’s just basic math. If company needs to cut 1% salary overhead, many less people lose their jobs if they eliminate banded positions. Those people also have experience, a resume and a severance package to fall back on. This is 2018. Every major corporation is doing it. You literally will not find a job at any company if your criterion is people never get laid off.
