Thread regarding Barnes & Noble Inc. layoffs

B&N and their poor decisions...

Today, B&N laid off dedicated, loyal employees in the most disrespectful way. If they think that this will help with sales, they are very much mistaken. Instead of experienced, motivated employees that have been there for years and know their job inside out, we have been tossed aside without even the offer of a part time position.

I loved making recommendations to customers and most of them would come back to the store to specifically seek me out for more books to read! I was a head cashier, and along with the other Head cashier, basically got all the memberships. It's funny how B&N decides to get cut all their head cashiers when they are the go-getters for those memberships! And you all know how much they pushed us for those Memberships! HA! Good luck meeting those Membership Goals now! I doubt they will--- but thankfully this isn't my problem anymore.

My condolences goes out to all those affected---- we did not deserve this! And without any warning too!

No, they don't think this will help with sales. They're not that stupid. They simply don't care what you or anyone laid off thinks, they cut because they're losing money, period.

When you stop assuming everything is done for the betterment of employees or with them in mind, it all makes sense.
