Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

If this acquisition doesn‘t go through, Broadcom headquarters will freeze over, and S.A. Tan will ice skate to work

Let‘s face the facts. Tan is KNOWN for being a great dealmaker. AVGO is KNOWN for being highly efficient and ruthless in its acquisitions. They have probably spent all of 2017 planning this, weighing all options and strategies. They have discussed with institutional investors, asking them for their input and convincing them to take the AVGO side. They have managed to secure the assistance from Mav in leaking negative news about Q once a month.

You think Tan made this offer for fun? You think he didn‘t plan through all possible options before taking the first step? You think this was just an exploratory „Let‘s see what happens“ kind of thing?

No, this was over before it even started. So it‘s pointless to discuss about the blue vs the white vote. We will never hear the outcome of the vote, because before the month is over, Broadcom and Qualcomm will present a joint proposal for the acquisition and a detailed plan for the transition. So stop arguing about what we should do. Our fate has already been decided.

Waiting to hear Glass Lewis and ISS guidance, that'll be some hefty influence.

Previous acquisitions were easier because shareholders knew their companies had little, if any, upside. Big bucks are still to be made in cellular so greed, not fear, is the dominant emotion with QCOM.

I heard S.A. Tan is one of Tan‘s AVGO internal nicknames. Kinda fitting.
