Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

8 Regions?

I think 8 regions would align with Pepsi, and thats been a consistent theme since the 2012 layoff and before. IKNs vision of fully integrating all the lines of business to make the company less attractive to activist investors looking to break it off into profitable pieces. And save her own job and “legacy” in the process.

If that’s what’s coming, frankly that’d make the company more stable in the long run. You think next week is going to be carnage, imagine if Frito went to mondelez. Doubt it’ll make the company healthier, but in that respect IKNs interests and the interests of the rest of us are aligned. May not be what’s best for the stockholders, though, they’d make out better if we were dismantled and sold off to the highest bidder.

If you have a 4/4 or above it's highly unlikely you will be on the chopping block.

Really trying to see your vision, but it is really hard to see. So explain how this is going to attract great workers? I can honestly say that my PDR's have been 8 or above. I have just a few years until retirement, but don't see it happening. This layoff will be very harmful to many families. What is the incentive to be a great employee?

No, please reread what I said. It’s a step to insulate activist investors from coming in and breaking Pepsi up into pieces. It might be a good strategy in that respect, said nothing more. It is really interesting though that people b--ch and moan about the lack of competitive strategy, yet when they try to do people complain too.

Good??? Where do you see the good? Aligned with Pepsi? Their service is so bad that some cstores will not even carry their products. The only "profit" seen will be for the investors and "Ninja". You need to remember this, because your day will come.

You don’t have to be banded to realize that splitting the company into pieces would be a ton of change, most of which unpleasant. Every go to market system, every support function, every region would be impacted in some way. I have no idea if the upcoming reorg will be good or bad in the long run, but it’s clear change is needed. As many have said, the golden days are behind us. My hope is that it’s a deep reorg for (like I anticipate it is) and not just a slash and burn for productivity. At least some good might come from it.

You must be a band1 or higher to be aligned with this. You need to remember that the "lower" level people are the ones putting the product in the shelves. What incentive with this give to future employees? Work hard and one day you too can get played off!!! I am so done with this company. I really hope my number is up.
