Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Business Decision Makers

Some of the people making the decisions have never worked a claim or managed a team. They have no idea what goes into customer service and the importance of it. As far as having people to work the claims, they will worry about that after they cut the expenses by getting rid of 20,000 workers that have built up salaries, vacation time, and pension. Maybe they do not want to get rid of all 20,000 at once, but their goal is to cut from 65,000 down to 45,000. That is a fact. None of the SF workers are safe, in the Hub or not.

Well the powers in the ivory towers of Bloomington are killing this company. Can’t give the service now How are they gonna do it with less people. They will end up hiring people T a less wage when it is all over with. Corporate Greed. Too bad they don’t value all of the long term employees they have devoted themselves for years and now it is see ya. People don’t come to work. Tons on attendance and performance memos and who will get the boot the long term dedicated non performance issue apparently non valued employees

Well, I've read interviews Tips has given (both to news outlets and on our Intranet). He's eluded to the approx # of people expected to be in the hubs and Bloomington.....it doesn't add up to 65,000 employees, which is the # currently listed on SF.com's "Company Profile."

If memory serves, the math came up roughly at about 45,000. Tips has said 15,000 in Bloom, then approx 10K in each hub.

Here's a 2016 article: http://wglt.org/post/state-farm-ceo-offers-workforce-reassurance-and-musings-tech-change#stream/0

Just need to put 2-n-2 together, is all ;-)
