SM mentioned there would be a 10 percent layoff irrespective of BRCM deal
Anyone knows when are these employees notified / what's going on internally ?

This is concerning, is this the right number per calculation ? I am hearing various other numbers.
From yahoo, they have
Full Time Employees: 33,800
Assume 50% in US = ~17000

Per SM it will be 1700 ( SM making this up as he said NXP deal will close by 2017 end ..haha)

For 1 bil savings it will be about 4000

For 3 bil saving it will be about 12000 (not realistic )
therefore the number has to be between ~2000 and 4000. Average, 4000 is more realistic.
Good high level calculation. This would be we are talking any where between 1 bil ( SM savings) = 4000 count and 3 bil ( AVGO count) = 12000.
Don't know the total count of employees in north america, what would that translate into %. Is this matching SM thinking of 10% ? if not is this 10% just a magic number without any proper reasoning ?
Sugar coating again . They said similar things in the last round and remember what actually happened? Maybe 10% in SD but way more in other sites.
